Frugal Friday: Battle of the Cream Shadows

Hey everyone, it’s finally Friday..yeiii..and what would this day be, without a new Frugal Friday I have prepared for all of you. So today’s contenders are:

Essence Stay All Day long lasting eyeshadow in Glammy Goes To $2.99 USD and Benefit’s Creasless Cream eyeshadow in r.s.v.p.$19.00 USD

The other day wandering thru the Ulta aisles, I saw that all the essence cosmetics were on sale, I mean big sale, so I have tried some products of them in the past and have loved them a lot. Then I saw that they have cream eyeshadows (Only 3 left btw). By now you might have figured out that I love cream shadows (not to use them alone, but to make my shadows look brighter) anyways, I was able to rescue the “Glammy Goes To” shadow which was less than a dollar on sale. I mean for this price I had to give it a try. (I was tempted in taking the other 2 but they were seriously a dupe of two of my Maybelline Color Tattoo’s so I abstained myself).

I got this because it reminded me to my small pot of Benefit’s creaseless cream in r.s.v.p. I love this color and I see that it will come to an end soon. But I do not want to pay 19.00 bucks for a full size.

I tried the essence one and I loveeeed it. I used it with primer as I always do, so I am not sure how long it will last without using primer. But the color payoff is amazing, it looks exactly as it looks in the pot. It’s very blendable so you won’t end up with some cream in your eyes that won’t let you work on with. I am going to be honest here this is not the exact same color as the benefit in r.s.v.p. but these 2 are beige cream shadows which have been harder to find for me.

For the benefit one, I also like this product, it is creamy and blendable as well, the only downside and I noticed the difference right away using the essence one, was that r.s.v.p. is more rosy-pink, so if you have yellow undertones, this cream will give you a light shimmer, if you want the color to show off you need to apply bit more product. I think that the essence one is for more yellow undertones and it’s very noticeable with just one coat.

As you can see they are not identical dupes, but I do still think that the essence one is my favorite now, great payoff, easy application, very easy to blend, and price it’s just amazing. If you are curious of trying cream shadows I think this is a nice option. Now I am not sure of their color range is that wide. But the colors I saw are pretty neutral so I think they are fine.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this frugal Friday, have an excellent weekend!!
