It’s Party Time…Makeup Mists

Holiday Parties are coming fast, I already had a couple and  became aware of the value of looking good for pictures. I am not normally the type of girl who photographs good; actually I am the type of person who looks like this:

But skipping the babbling, today I want to talk about Setting Sprays, because I have oily skin and I always have valued the power of setting my makeup in order for it to last longer. So I will be talking about two products (drugstore of course) one I already finished and the other one is still going strong.

The first one is the NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray around $8.00 in the drugstore with 2.02 Oz. This is a very powerful little bottle I enjoyed using it over the summer, but I have to admit that even if I am oily for this season is kind of harsh for me. I do recommend it if you are extremely oily, it really works.

NYX Setting Spray

The next product is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray I even got tired of writing this name, now this product is interesting because it’s around $16.00 in the drugstore with 3.4 Oz. Ok it comes with more product than the NYX one and honestly I like it even more, you know how L’Oreal owns Urban Decay (and they also have their setting spray, which I did not like at all because it makes my skin feel sticky) well this product is good, mist is very lightweight, it does set my makeup pretty good plus I do feel it extends if for a longer period of time, it does not have any scent that I have noticed which is a good thing for me and my makeup looks good in photos. I do recommend it, but the only bummer is the price, for a drugstore product I feel it could be a little less expensive, but if I compare it with trying to buy a high end brand this beats it completely. My opinion would be get it with a coupon (which is a great option drugstore gives us in the US).

Loreal Setting Spray

Do you have any other Setting Sprays you love?

Until Next Time

Hot Hot Hot!

Good day to all of you out there!! I cannot believe how summer has been stalking us here in Houston, and the Humidity oh my lord, that is something I’ve never experienced before. People from here tell me is not even real summer yet, so I don’t know what will happen. One thing for sure is that these past few days I’ve decided to give a rest to my flat and curling irons only because with the humidity my hair does not stay put.

So what I’ve been doing? Well, playing with all the hair products I can to get an easy hairstyle without fighting my wavy hair nature. I got to the point of saying I am letting this battle go and focus on more important stuff like organizing the new apartment (‘cuz this little hoarder hasn’t finished unpacking!). Also, for my makeup I’ve been keeping it very minimal, double wear foundation from Estee Lauder paired with my biggest discovery so far, the NYX matte setting spray, gotta love that stuff because it keeps my face from melting big time and my blush stays on the entire day. A little bit of eyeshadow from my NAKED Basics palette and my beloved ELF eyeliner. A little bit of lip gloss or lip balm and I am good to go.

I love this easy summer routine, today it took me less than 30 minutes to get ready, that has to be a record for me!! And the question of the day is: Do you have any special humidity tips for me? Also I heard hurricane season started, do you know any special things I should do to prepare for that?

Until Next Time

New Drugstore Lip Products

So I have been noticing that the last couple of month’s drugstore brands have come with amazing lip products. As you know I am currently at Quito, but I had a week off and went to the States, of course I had to make a trip to CVS and Walgreens.

Today I wanted to share with you these products I got and give you my thoughts on them.

2013_11 DLP 00

2013_11 DLP 01

NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu. In my trip I discovered that you can get NYX in Target now (YAY!). So this is a neutral gloss, very nice color with a nice vanilla scent and shiny. It does not dry my lips at all which is something I really like from NYX products. Downside, this is not a long lasting product so you would have to re-apply several times a day.

2013_11 DLP 02

NYX Butter Lip Balm in Ladyfingers. I LOVE this product; it reminded me of the dollar scented lip balms my mom used to buy me from the AVON catalog when I was a child. It has a fruity scent and it is colored. It comes in several colors, I love it.

2013_11 DLP 03

Maybelline The Elixir in Fuchsia Flourish. I believe these are Maybelline’s interpretation for the YSL Glossy Stains, may I say that this product is something unique, it is glossy and it does have staying power. When I first applied it I must say I felt the product being a bit sticky (which is something I don’t like that much) but the color payoff and the glossy look made me feel very satisfied with this product. Now the applicator is something very similar to the YSL ones.

2013_11 DLP 04

Revlon Matte Lip Balm in Showy. Revlon did it again, they never cease to amaze me, these balms are GREAT. First of all it has this minty scent which I adore from Revlon products. Second of all it is moisturizing, you know how matte products tend to be drying? Well this is NOT dry, it lasts long time and color payoff is amazing.

2013_11 DLP 05

Revlon Lacquer Balm in Vivacious. I love the word Lacquer (sounds so fancy lol) this is the perfect Christmas Red Lip Color, the picture doesn’t even do justice to this vibrant red which I love. It is an amazing color, I really recommend you to get this while you can.

2013_11 DLP 06

All in all I am happy with my lippies, and can say that I am really impressed that drugstore products keep creating great quality products at half the price of High End products.

Have you tried any of these? If so what were your thoughts?

Until Next Time,

xoxo

March Beauty Favorites

It is that time of the month again, yes when I talk about my beauty favorites. March was a month that flew by pretty fast, but at the same time there were days when I just needed a break LOL. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed your March month, and are starting to enjoy warmer days now that spring arrived (I know I am).

BTW, you may notice in the video that I have my hair very very straight, well I did a tutorial on that which will be up very soon, so if you have wavy hair and want to get rid of it stay tuned.

Until Next Time,

xoxo

My NYX Wish List (Under a Budget Makeup)

NYX products have been the hit for good quality at reasonable prices. I think that one of my first shadows was from NYX and I used it every single day until I finished it. You know I cannot spend money, but I went and check out their website because I heard that they have come out with new stuff. I had to make my wish list and amazingly noticed that again their prices are pretty reasonable. Plus, In case you need anything you can go a visit their site and you can check out reviews (which is something I do before buying anything).

So this is my Wish List:

Stay Matte but Not Flat Liquid Foundation $7.50. Who doesn’t like to be matte at least I do with my oily skin…

Stay Matte but Not Flat Powder $9.50.I heard this powder has great coverage and price seems reasonable for a powder.

NYX Matte Bronzer $9.00. I think that most of the bronzers I’ve ever used had a bit shimmer, so I’ve always wanted to try a matte one, I think this looks like a reasonable price for a matte bronzer as I have not had the guts to pay for benefit’s hoola nor NARS laguna.

NYX Rouge Cream Blush $6.00. I think this is what you would normally pay for a blush, so I don’t think price being exorbitant. They have so much fun colors that I want to try most of them.

NYX Pore Filler $13.00. This reminded me to benefit’s porefessional, looking at the picture it does look a bit similar, I am wondering if it would work the same.

NYX Shine Killer $13.00. As I said I have oily skin so this would be something nice to try.

NYX Matte and Dewy Makeup Setting Spray $8.00. These two remind me of the Urban Decay Setting Sprays, Now I love my Elf setting spray which is very inexpensive but I do not like the scent, if the scent of these was less annoying I would like to try them out.

NYX HD Concealer $5.00. I love my Estee Lauder double wear concealer and I am seeing this will come to an end soon (I have had that beauty for more than a year). I don’t know if I could keep paying $22.00 bucks for concealer.

Love in Florence Palette $8.00. Who needs more palettes? Not me for sure, but I saw this one and I thought it was gorgeous I do like NYX shadows and think that consider them great quality so I think this is a pretty nice palette.

NYX Precious Pearls $9.99. Ok I definitely don’t need this, but I thought it was cool, remember the Ciate nail polishes and their peals manicure set. Well this is similar, I have always wanted to give it a try so I think this would be a nice option without breaking your budget that much, the only downside is that it only comes in black or white.

I hope this was helpful for all of you who are searching for new makeup without breaking your budget.

Until Next Time,

xoxo
