The Lipstick that Looks Expensive But is Not

“That lipstick looks gorgeous” a girl who works in Sephora told me while I was checking out some purchases, I was like “Thank You it’s CoverGirl” she could not believe it; now I don’t normally receive these type of compliments,  but when I do I have to write about it.

And I wanted to talk about this lipstick because it really is a very faltering color and is not a high end brand, two of my favorite things. So I came up with this lipstick watching a YouTube video (not a surprise) and I found the color beautiful.

colorlicious_divine_wine

Divine Wine is a color that when you might see it you may think “this color will not be good for me”, basically because it looks purple, but when you apply it it truly transforms into this amazing vibrant color, in my lips is a little bit berry. Also, it lasts a long time and leaves a tint on your lips when it fades. I truly recommend this if you are looking for a pop of color this season.

February Faves and Fails

Hello everyone, so today I have my February Favorites, I have a considerable amount of stuff, mostly drugstore, and I am proud because I’ve been using what’s in my stash and I found the perfect accessory for this summer (well at least for me!)…

Faves:

  • Clean & Clear Essentials Foaming Facial Cleanser oil free Step 1
  • Forever 21 $5.00 Dollar Pearls (Love them ‘cuz they don’t look/feel cheap)
  • Elf Blush in Mellow Mauve
  • Beauty Secrets Cuticle Oil
  • Ahava Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream
  • Garnier Undereye Roll On Concealer
  • Revlon Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow (My Holy Grail Go To Red)

Fails:

  • Fekkai Hair Mask (Smells good but doesn’t do anything for me)
  • CoverGirl Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balm (Doesn’t smell good)

Until Next Time,

xoxo

Frugal Friday: Battle of the Blushes

Hello everyone, welcome to another segment of Frugal Friday’s, where saving money matters, without sacrificing looking smocking hot. So today is blush talk, you know it I just love blush (and mascara), sometimes I think I go a bit overboard with it, but hey I love looking like grandma (just kidding!!) anyways today competitors are:

Hard Candy Fox in a Box Smooth Talker Blush ($6.00 USD) vs. Benefit Sugarbomb Blush ($28.00 USD)

I bought the Hard Candy blush a long time ago, I think it was when they first came out, and I thought that benefit blushes were way expensive for me. So Smooth Talker comes with four different shades that you can mix to create a wonderful color; I would say it leaves this pretty peach cheek color overall. It also comes with a small brush that I think has no use, so I disregarded that one immediately and started using my blush brush (May I suggest one from Real Techniques?). This has no scent as the benefit blushes (you know, they say that these smell like candy and rainbows), but it is no bother for me at all, I mean is not that I need a nice scent in my cheeks to look good. Overall good product and for the price, I do prefer this one instead of the CoverGirl (which scent reminds me to my grandma) blushes.

Now for Benefit Sugarbomb you can see that the design is very similar I mean it comes in this box and has 4 colors which I also see are very similar. Now I have not used this exact product but I have used other benefit blush (Bella Bamba) and they do smell like candy and rainbows. At first you don’t notice it that much but as you keep using the product scent becomes more noticeable. They also come with a brush with may look a bit better than the hard candy one, but still I don’t think that it is the optimal blush application brush. The tap separates from the product which I think is not that convenient especially if you are on the run, I prefer the tap of the hard candy because it is attached to the box. And lastly the price it is expensive. The only way is buying a kit (And that’s how I got Bella Bamba), because if I had to pay for this I rather get a NARS blush, but that’s just me.

So yep in this case I would go for the Hard Candy Blush, I think it is a good drugstore option and you can really make it work. I hope this information is helpful for you.

Have you tried any of these blushes, if so what’s your opinion?

Until Next Time,

xoxo

CoverGirl LipPerfection Review

Hey everyone, it’s Friday, I’s so excited because today I have a product review for all of you, I got this a bit time ago (before my no spending month started…don’t think I cheated). Anyways spring is near, all brands are releasing their new collections and CoverGirl was not the exception releasing their LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balms.

With a range of 16 different shades, which makes me think there must be a color for everyone to pick, CoverGirl enters to the big twistable lip balms competition. Will they have a winning place? Let’s see..

Wrapping Project Pan 2012

Hello everyone, so I hope everyone is having a great day/night, I know I am. So today I want to take some time to give you my last update for the project pan I started last year. Yep you read correctly, I am wrapping up project pan with only one item left. I am doing this because truthfully I know this product will have no end soon, I am talking about my Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer, this one has tons of product left and I think this will last me another whole year.

So I decided to give it a good end, having in mind that I learned a lot of things from project pan:

  • I did have a very hard time in not buying anything else; hence I cheated a bit I must say.

  • When you pick products for your project make sure that they are not new. It is a pain to use a new product because it will take loads of time to get over it (Like my concealer).

  • It is fun to create new looks with the products you have, you fall in love again with your collection.

  • You get savvier at the time of purchasing beauty products.

  • You save $

In my last update I had 3 products left:

  1. ELF Complexion Duo Bronzer and Blush. In my last update I said that I would give the bronzer a couple of more weeks. Couldn’t be so wrong because this thing lasted more than that time, but I finally finished it. As I said before for $3.00 usd this is not bad at all I really liked it, but I won’t be repurchasing this soon as I have other bronzers I need to dig in, and needless to say I have blush overstock.

  2. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. I did have a hard time finishing this one, but accomplished it, I must say this product was my savior over the summer, but over the fall/winter I do not need that much powder for setting up my makeup. Would I repurchase, maybe I will I do think this is a great powder for Oily Skin, but right now I am using one from CoverGirl and has been working real good on me.

  3. CoverGirl Liquiline Blast eyeliner in Black Fire. Ok now I really got to the point where I cannot sharpen this pencil, which means I can no longer use it, it is so small and tiny that I had to get another one. I did repurchase the same liner again I really love this product a lot and I hope this never gets discontinued.

  1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. This was the only product I could not finish I love it and it works great on me, whenever I try to use something else (Laura Mercier, Cover FX) I go back to this one it’s just great for my skin and my dark circles. And I continue using it.

Now if someone asked me if I would go through another project pan, as a matter of fact I will, but I am working in a different approach this time (that might be less painful). So stay tuned in the next days, I will be talking about my new project for this 2013.

Until Next Time

xoxo

Project Pan Update 10/16/12

Hey everybody, so today I have a project pan update. I know it’s been quite some time, but who would think that finishing products would take time, anyways here is a bit update to show that this project is still alive and I haven’t forgotten about it.

My Products List:

  1. Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer in 002. Completely over. I learned that I cannot use this product near my nose or I’ll break out awful. What I have learned is that this product might work for someone with more normal skin and as I am oily would not be repurchasing.

  2. Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. I haven’t seen this thing going down, but man I like this product it conceals real good and blends great.

  3. CoverGirl Liquiline Blast eyeliner in Black Fire. I got to the point where the pencil has gotten so small that is kind of hard for me to use it, but still works great. My verdict would be, once I finish this liner I will repurchase it and won’t buy any other brand ever again.

  4. Benefit’s They are Real Mascara. This product was a mess, I tried it first and didn’t like it, I let it air dry a bit and didn’t like it, it poke my eye every time I used it and you know my trouble with un-curled lashes so this was a big disappoint for me. My sister used it once and completely loved it so she took it; this proves that a product can be good for some and bad for others.

  5. Elf Complexion Duo Bronzer and Blush. The Blush is completely gone and the bronzer is almost gone but still on the run (I would give it a couple of weeks of use). I think I would repurchase this only because it does the job, and it’s only $3.00 USD, now I do have other 2 bronzers in line after this one so I don’t think I will be buying this product soon.

  6. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. I used this product like crazy over the summer but I haven’t used it that much lately so it has a big pan but haven’t finished yet. The truth is that my face hasn’t been that oily these weeks (Thank god for the fall season).

  7. Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Cream Gel. When I got this product I had high hopes I mean a refreshing gel moisturizer? It was good at first but maybe my skin got used to it and stopped working on me (and it broke me out badly). So I decided to go ahead and use it for my neck (and broke me out again). This product is over and I would not repurchase it. I don’t think is a bad and this might work for normal skin types. I ended using what was left for my hands.

  8. Mary Kay Time Wise Night Complex. Completely Over I don’t have pictures of this because I included it in my empties of the month video here and threw it away, this is an Ok product but I don’t think I would repurchase it because I do consider Mary Kay as an expensive brand. I do use some expensive products but they have to be WOW in order for me to give those extra pennies away.

  9. Mary Kay Time Wise Night Solution. Completely Over and I would give the same comments I did for the Night Complex.

And something extra I discovered today; I use my NAKED palette every single day, I do believe that this palette is very school and office appropriate, besides it helps you create wonderful looks for special occasions (weddings, birthdays, etc.), well today I hit pan on my favorite shadow and that one would be SIN, I just love this shadow and I use it as a highlighter every single day. I am kind of sad because I do love this shadow, and I would think that this palette was magical never ending product. But that’s fine…

Anyways, that’s all for me today,

If you are under a project pan I would like to know, I love watching what other people include in their projects.

Until Next Time,

xoxo

My Weekend in Pictures, Empties of the Month, & More.

Hey everybody so today I have my weekend in pictures. So let’s get started first of all on Friday I went with my sister and did a little bit of rush shopping. And for rush I mean it was 8:00 pm and we had to get a complete outfit for her, before the mall closed at 9:00 pm So we just said Challenge Accepted!!. And we were so lucky we found everything she needed (‘Cuz she can be very picky sometimes).

In the meantime I was able to look at these stilettos/flats, talking about fashionable statement pieces for this fall. These things looked like WOW! If I had to choose I would definitely go for the flats, but that’s just me.

Project Pan Update

Hello everyone, so today I have a project pan update and a reformulation (in video)!! Now that summer it’s here some of the products I had included in my project pan (which I started since winter) have been breaking me out or have not been nice to me. So I decided to reformulate my project pan. This would be kind of like a Summer Edition jeje..
