It’s Party Time…Makeup Mists

Holiday Parties are coming fast, I already had a couple and  became aware of the value of looking good for pictures. I am not normally the type of girl who photographs good; actually I am the type of person who looks like this:

Photos

But skipping the babbling, today I want to talk about Setting Sprays, because I have oily skin and I always have valued the power of setting my makeup in order for it to last longer. So I will be talking about two products (drugstore of course) one I already finished and the other one is still going strong.

The first one is the NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray around $8.00 in the drugstore with 2.02 Oz. This is a very powerful little bottle I enjoyed using it over the summer, but I have to admit that even if I am oily for this season is kind of harsh for me. I do recommend it if you are extremely oily, it really works.

NYX Setting Spray

The next product is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray I even got tired of writing this name, now this product is interesting because it’s around $16.00 in the drugstore with 3.4 Oz. Ok it comes with more product than the NYX one and honestly I like it even more, you know how L’Oreal owns Urban Decay (and they also have their setting spray, which I did not like at all because it makes my skin feel sticky) well this product is good, mist is very lightweight, it does set my makeup pretty good plus I do feel it extends if for a longer period of time, it does not have any scent that I have noticed which is a good thing for me and my makeup looks good in photos. I do recommend it, but the only bummer is the price, for a drugstore product I feel it could be a little less expensive, but if I compare it with trying to buy a high end brand this beats it completely. My opinion would be get it with a coupon (which is a great option drugstore gives us in the US).

Loreal Setting Spray

Do you have any other Setting Sprays you love?

Until Next Time

Getting #RadiantWithAVEENO

Hello everybody, happy almost Friday everybody, this week was very busy for me, month end is comming and you know it can drive someone cray cray. Especially since I am training someone (more on that on other post) Anyways, I have a little time off so I want to talk about a product that I started using a couple of weeks ago. Honestly in the past I had some trouble finding a good face moisturizer. I know it is important to moisturize your face day and night, but as I always have had oily skin I must admit I sometimes tend to skip that step from my routine.

However, when I do use moisturizers I tend to use the same for morning and night, I don’t know why but I really feel it is a hassle to have night and day cream, it’s just too much for me, especially if I am running from one way to another. So a couple of weeks I received the Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Tone Corrector complimentary of Influenster for testing purposes.

Let’s be honest, I know this is a tone corrector moisturizer (and I do have some hyper-pigmentation), but in there it says you can use it day and night so I was sold with that. The product is a bit expensive around $16.00 in the drugstore and comes with 1.1fl Oz. Scent is like mostly Aveeno products, if you had use them you’ll know what I am talking about. Product comes out lightweight and a little bit goes a long way, I normally use a pea size amount, and have been using it constantly day and night for the past 2 or 3 weeks.

Now, I honestly have not noticed a big change in my hyper-pigmentation, but this moisturizer is the bomb.com, let me explain why, basically it has not broken me out in any way, and does not make my makeup look shinny crazy during the day. This is a very big deal if you have very Oily Skin and are in the middle of the summer in a hot humid weather. So YES I love this moisturizer, maybe it’s not why because it was designed for but hey it works great, so I really appreciate receiving this little bottle and definitely will repurchase when this is over, which I guess will not be soon cuz I still have a heck load of product left.

Have you used this moisturizer? If so what you thought about it?

Until Next Time,

xoxo

Best Shampoo for Oily Scalp!

Yes, I have oily scalp!! My hair was not like this in the past, but I think I can blame the change of weather of my new city. You see in the past I used to live in a hot and dry weather and now Houston, if you ever been here summers are hot and humid. I was using a “normal” drugstore shampoo and it started building this oil thing in my head, I would feel as if I hadn’t washed my hair in months!!!

I changed shampoo’s and it worked for a week or so and then it started happening again, I felt so bad!! Especially because I am going to the gym more and well nobody wants to have greasy yucky hair. I know that washing your hair also everyday is very very bad, but as my hair was this way I could not go one day without washing it.

So the other day I remembered about the Neutrogena anti-residue formula shampoo, It is a small bottle (not like any conventional shampoo) but a little bit lathers real good. As my hair was having a horrible day I went with it two times.

The scent of this product is a bit musky and it does linger in your hair after you wash it and even till next day. What I did was wash my hair at night and let it air dry and slept (which is exactly what I’ve been doing with my other shampoo’s). The next morning amazingly my hair was not oily at all, I decided to straight it with my CHI flat iron (which I stopped using due to my oiliness) and my hair feels so soft and light I love it.

Now one thing though I know you are not supposed to use this every day, because it really strips all the oil out of your hair. But what I am planing is on “training” my hair to not washing it every day and be more reliable on my dry Shampoo.

I heard that this type of Shampoo is good to be used once every two weeks if you want to get rid of all of the gunk in your hair and believe me it works. So Yes I would recommend this shampoo I love it.

Until Next Time,

xoxo

Take Me To The Happy Place

Happy Friday everyone, so today I have a review/swatches of this fabulous eyeshadow palette I found recently, let me say that I am really amazed by it and has been one of my favorites since last month.

I am talking about Bare Minerals “The Happy Place” eyeshadow quad. I found this at Sephora and Love it; the pigmentation is amazing, shadows are buttery and soft, very easy to apply and blend. This has been my go to run around look for the entire month.

One thing is that it is a bit pricey around the $38.00 dollars which is a bit ouch, but if you are looking for good shadows in a small palette I think these are great. I know I have had a love and hate relationship with this brand in the past, but for these shadows my love came back lol.

Have you used BareMinerals products? What are your thoughts on this brand??

Until Next Time

New Drugstore Lip Products

So I have been noticing that the last couple of month’s drugstore brands have come with amazing lip products. As you know I am currently at Quito, but I had a week off and went to the States, of course I had to make a trip to CVS and Walgreens.

Today I wanted to share with you these products I got and give you my thoughts on them.

2013_11 DLP 00

2013_11 DLP 01

NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu. In my trip I discovered that you can get NYX in Target now (YAY!). So this is a neutral gloss, very nice color with a nice vanilla scent and shiny. It does not dry my lips at all which is something I really like from NYX products. Downside, this is not a long lasting product so you would have to re-apply several times a day.

2013_11 DLP 02

NYX Butter Lip Balm in Ladyfingers. I LOVE this product; it reminded me of the dollar scented lip balms my mom used to buy me from the AVON catalog when I was a child. It has a fruity scent and it is colored. It comes in several colors, I love it.

2013_11 DLP 03

Maybelline The Elixir in Fuchsia Flourish. I believe these are Maybelline’s interpretation for the YSL Glossy Stains, may I say that this product is something unique, it is glossy and it does have staying power. When I first applied it I must say I felt the product being a bit sticky (which is something I don’t like that much) but the color payoff and the glossy look made me feel very satisfied with this product. Now the applicator is something very similar to the YSL ones.

2013_11 DLP 04

Revlon Matte Lip Balm in Showy. Revlon did it again, they never cease to amaze me, these balms are GREAT. First of all it has this minty scent which I adore from Revlon products. Second of all it is moisturizing, you know how matte products tend to be drying? Well this is NOT dry, it lasts long time and color payoff is amazing.

2013_11 DLP 05

Revlon Lacquer Balm in Vivacious. I love the word Lacquer (sounds so fancy lol) this is the perfect Christmas Red Lip Color, the picture doesn’t even do justice to this vibrant red which I love. It is an amazing color, I really recommend you to get this while you can.

2013_11 DLP 06

All in all I am happy with my lippies, and can say that I am really impressed that drugstore products keep creating great quality products at half the price of High End products.

Have you tried any of these? If so what were your thoughts?

Until Next Time,

xoxo

Review | Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments & NYC Sparkle Eye Dust

So today I have a bit of a comparison between 2 products I had the chance to try these past few days. These are Kind of New to the Makeup Community, so you could consider this a first impressions/review.

The first one comes from Maybelline you know how much I love their color tattoos so I was pretty excited when I saw a display of their new Pure Pigments; I thought what a great idea especially because most of the colors are similar to their color tattoos. Well I picked up two colors Never Fade Jade and Barely Brazen but, when I first swatch them, well you can see it for yourself, the emerald color (Never Fade Jade) looks ok (not that fancy as I was expecting) but the Barely Brazen color is just nothing (only glitter). Maybe I set my hopes too high, but I did not like them. Another thing that I don’t like is the packaging you have to literally hit the small package in order to get product out of those tiny holes, but I am guessing that if I carry that thing somewhere all product will spill and will make a mess (just saying!). Finally these are freaking expensive I think they are almost $6.00 USD which for me does not cut it. Sorry Maybelline I do love your color tattoos but these things are preposterous.

Now on the other side of the rainbow I found this little product from NYC it is called Sparkle Eye Dust in Topaze Rose. This is basically loose eye shadow in a stick it is amazing and I just love it, it comes with a sponge applicator which makes things very easy, to avoid any fallout I go first with a cream eye shadow and then apply this. I love their pigmentation alone it is just amazing, color is very pretty, and they are so inexpensive less than $3.00 USD. This product is compact so I can carry it everywhere I want without worrying if the loose shadow will spill all over.

So if I had to pick of course I chose NYC inexpensive, easy to apply, good packaging, and great pigmentation. Sorry Maybelline but the pigments suck.

Until Next Time,

xoxo
