Getting #RadiantWithAVEENO

Hello everybody, happy almost Friday everybody, this week was very busy for me, month end is comming and you know it can drive someone cray cray. Especially since I am training someone (more on that on other post) Anyways, I have a little time off so I want to talk about a product that I started using a couple of weeks ago. Honestly in the past I had some trouble finding a good face moisturizer. I know it is important to moisturize your face day and night, but as I always have had oily skin I must admit I sometimes tend to skip that step from my routine.

However, when I do use moisturizers I tend to use the same for morning and night, I don’t know why but I really feel it is a hassle to have night and day cream, it’s just too much for me, especially if I am running from one way to another. So a couple of weeks I received the Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Tone Corrector complimentary of Influenster for testing purposes.

Let’s be honest, I know this is a tone corrector moisturizer (and I do have some hyper-pigmentation), but in there it says you can use it day and night so I was sold with that. The product is a bit expensive around $16.00 in the drugstore and comes with 1.1fl Oz. Scent is like mostly Aveeno products, if you had use them you’ll know what I am talking about. Product comes out lightweight and a little bit goes a long way, I normally use a pea size amount, and have been using it constantly day and night for the past 2 or 3 weeks.

Now, I honestly have not noticed a big change in my hyper-pigmentation, but this moisturizer is the bomb.com, let me explain why, basically it has not broken me out in any way, and does not make my makeup look shinny crazy during the day. This is a very big deal if you have very Oily Skin and are in the middle of the summer in a hot humid weather. So YES I love this moisturizer, maybe it’s not why because it was designed for but hey it works great, so I really appreciate receiving this little bottle and definitely will repurchase when this is over, which I guess will not be soon cuz I still have a heck load of product left.

Have you used this moisturizer? If so what you thought about it?

Until Next Time,

xoxo

Review | Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

For this summer drugstore brands are aiming for products that have a natural feeling to your skin (you know as if you were not wearing any makeup but still look as if you slept 8 hours every day). Honestly nobody wants to feel as if they are wearing a mask, today calls for natural looks and easy applications (because who has time to blend blend blend). Revlon entered the market with its own Nearly Naked Foundation and Powder, when I saw the name naked in instantly thought about Urban Decay and its entire Naked Line.

My background with Revlon has been using their Colorstay foundation for oily skin, and I like it, but I do consider it a bit heavy for every day. That is why I was really curious about the Nearly Naked foundation.

First of all, the design, I need a pump please and let me tell you why, when I use any of the Revlon foundations I tend to waste a lot of product, also the bottle is glass, so you need to treat it carefully and keep it away from children.

However, the foundation itself is AMAZING, it is lightweight which means this will give you a light to medium coverage. Do not expect this will take away all of your discoloration or get rid of your dark circles because it won’t, but it will brighten your skin and will make you look very natural as if you were applying a tinted moisturizer with more power. I can easily go after that with my Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer and get rid of my dark circles without my face looking cakey.

It comes with SPF 20 which I think is decent for a drugstore foundation. Now, how does this react with my oily skin? Well when I first started using it I did break out a bit but I always do when I change foundations. Sometimes, depending on the weather I do have to go with an Oil Absorbing Sheet at lunch time on my T-Zone (especially because I wear glasses), but nothing bad, foundation does stay on place and I look good the entire day.

Color Range is good, they came out with 15 different shades which gives you a wide range to select the color that suits you better, what I did is I took my favorite foundation to the drugstore and try to match it, or you can also take Revlon’s test at their website in order to see which one is the best for you.

Price is decent around $7.00 to $8.00 depending where you buy it and I really think is a good drugstore option if you are in the need of a budget friendly lightweight foundation. All in all, YES this is an approved product for me and I would repurchase.

Have you tried this foundation? If so, what are your thoughts?

Until Next Time,

xoxo

Clinique Gives You Freebies

With winter going away and spring coming, I must admit my face was awful. I started breaking out really bad (which I normally don’t) and I my face was suffering. While trying to change soaps, which didn’t work out I remember about Clinique. I used to use Clinique in high school you know the time when you are more prone to have acne and all that, my mom used to buy me their 3 steps. So that would work for me. So the other day I had to go, I was feeling in high school all over again and I needed a solution.

While being there I noticed that they had a promotion. If you’ve been to Clinique counters you know that time to time they come with their gift bags if you buy certain amount of money. Well they had this. If you bought 25.00 USD, you would receive a makeup bag full of goodies. I wanted to go for the 3 steps again, but the little bag already came with a face wash a moisturizer and a night cream that I said I will try their foundation. I’ve never tried a Clinique foundation, but I always wanted to because I had heard good things.

So I went for the Clinique even better foundation. When I saw it I was like this size is very small, but remembered that that is the size of the Chanel Vitalumiere aqua, and that really has lasted me a long time.

My thoughts, well it’s been now 2 weeks since I started using it all together with the soap and I must say my pizza face is gone. I love the day moisturizer because it is a gel which is perfect for my oily skin but makes my face feel hydrated enough. The night cream is very rich as well and does help me a lot. For the foundation I do like it, but it is kind of light to medium coverage, it gives you a very natural look, if you do have some discoloration you will have to go with concealer, which I have to do, but overall I like it.

The makeup bag also came with a trio 2 eyeshadows and 1 blush. Shadows are meh, they were not that pigmented for me so I did have to pack more color, if you have fair skin maybe they will be nice for you. But the blush OMG I love it, and I just wished it was only the blush included.

The lipstick comes in color cranberry glace. It is very nice color as well, they had two different for you to pick this one and a more natural one, but since I am now into bright lips I chose this one. It is a very nice pop of color but not overwhelming. Very appropriate for office work.

And last the mascara. Let me say I did had high hopes for this one (as I do for all new mascaras LOL), but this one I just don’t know I didn’t like it for one thing. Ok yes it feels natural and looks good, but my lashes cannot hold a curl very easily, this doesn’t hold it, and it smudges under my eye area, and makes me look as a raccoon by the end of the day. I don’t like that and I hope you neither.

But overall pretty amazed I mean of all the products I only hated the mascara and the 2 shadows. But my face got fixed and it is ready for summer.

My Skincare Routine

I admit it I am guilty, removing my makeup, washing my face, and applying some moisturizer, should be a must every night. But really there are times when I just get so tired that I just hit my bed WHICH I KNOW IS BAAAAAD!!

So I decided that this year would be different, I am truly compromised to remove my makeup every night before going to bed, and to have a better skincare routine. I know I need something easy, because if I complicate it I will end up doing nothing. So I decided to do this video showing you what’s my skincare routine at the moment.

Plus in the video I talk about a tool that’s been very handy, this is the Olay ProX Cleansing System, I just wrote a review which you can check out here I’ve been using this baby a lot and I love it, I do not have the guts $ to buy a Clarisonic, so I went for this baby quite some time ago, check out the review if you want to know how it works, what it comes with, and the price.

So I hope this is helpful for all of you,

Until Next Time,

xoxo

My Favorite Oils

When you are an oily skin person the last thing you think about is applying more oil to your skin or hair. I have had some bad experiences in the past using oils for my face and my hair. I know that nourishing is important, but still I had my reserves, until now.

Last year I received my rewards coupon from Ulta, I was level 2 (like I’ve been for the past 3 years) which gave me the right for a free goodie. When checking out the list I found something that caught my eye Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. I heard great things about this product all over YouTube, but still I was afraid that it would leave my hair all greasy and yucky (ring a bell Organix?). Thinking that the tiny size costs around $6.00 bucks and wouldn’t be seeing myself paying them I decided to get it.

I am letting my hair grow and for that to be accomplished I don’t go to my stylist that often (because if I go for a trim every 3 months, it won’t grow as fast as I want to) but still I do abuse of my flat and curling irons, so I started using this oil for my ends, every time I went out of the shower, considering that I wash my hair 3 times a week with damp hair I applied a pea size drop of this oil, and used my hair drier. I’ve been doing this religiously for some time now and my hair does not have a single split end.

Considering that I just don’t use any heat protector (because honestly I always forget to) I do think this is a GREAT product. It does not leave my hair greasy and it looks shiny and nourished. Plus it lasts a long time I mean I haven’t even reached half of this tiny bottle (10 ml). So if you ask me, YES I do recommend this product.

Now for my skin, I had to return an ugly product from Sephora and I really didn’t want my cash back (beauty junky alert) this happened around December, so I went for the Josie Maran Argan Oil, before this I read A LOT of reviews saying that this oil was amazing for the face, even if you had oily skin it would work on you, it would not break you out, etc.

So I had to go for it, it is winter and I do feel like I need a little bit of help, I’ve been using this oil for over a month now only at nights and I LOVE IT when I wake up my skin feels so bright and nourished. Not a single breakout derived from this oil which gives it great kudos. I do feel a big change in my skin, so yep I will have to repurchase this product when it’s finished because basically this is my “night moisturizer”.

Have you used any of these products? If so what do you think of them?
